Hey everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend. My husband and I have our anniversary coming up and Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ was kind enough to host us for an early anniversary staycation this weekend! We had such an amazing time at this resort. I have never done a staycation before and we had such a great time!
When we first arrived to the resort we went straight to the Lakeside Spa for our couples massage. We changed into our robes and headed to a cute little waiting area. Our massage therapists listened to exactly what we wanted and it was such a relaxing experience! I don’t know about anyone else but whenever I get done with a massage I feel like I have just woken up from a 4,000 year nap. #ultimaterelaxation
After our massage we went to check in and they were able to check us in early which was very convenient! The view walking to our room was just stunning! This resort backs up to the mountains and has so much beautiful scenery. We arrived to our huge room which had a separate sitting area and dining table, two vanities and a gorgeous bathroom with a huge tub! I can’t forget the balcony patio that faced the mountain and pool. I loved just sitting out there at night relaxing. It started raining a little late Saturday afternoon and it was perfection!
Once up to the room we unpacked quickly and changed into our swimsuits to head down to the pool! We were sooo hungry so the first thing we did was order some food once we got some seats by the pool. It was a Saturday afternoon and there were plenty of seats open by the pool so that was nice that we weren’t stressed to find some together. The staff at Bill’s Grill (the poolside grill) was on point! We had an awesome waiter come by right when we sat down and got our drink and food order. The food came out quickly and it was incredible. My husband and I agree these were the best nachos we have ever had. Our waiter was so attentive making sure we always had water or a refill of my Coke (of course).
After spending the afternoon by the pool we came back to the room to find a huge tray of Chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate fondue, bottle of white wine, marshmallows and multiple toppings for our strawberries! We wasted NO time and started trying a little bit of everything! It was the perfect little afternoon snack and such a fun surprise to come back to. Also Duke had a fun gift waiting for him too! I love that this resort was so pet friendly. I never want to go anywhere without Duke so I love that we were more than welcome to bring him along!
After we devoured the strawberries we got cleaned up and ready for dinner. We spent some time walking around and taking in the gorgeous view of the golf course. It was so nice and relaxing just sitting there on the benches in front of the resort watching the sunset. We could have done that all night.
Sunday morning we woke up early and got our usual Iced Caramel Macchiato at the Vista Barista right off of the lobby and took a walk up to the waterfall. The walking trails on the property were so pretty and well maintained. The whole area featured such beautiful scenery. Once we got up to the waterfall we just sat there, sipped on our coffee and enjoyed the view. The overall vibe of our staycation was relaxing and that’s just what we were looking for.
Later that morning we headed off to the Blues, Brews & BBQ Sunday Brunch! Wow. Just wow. This brunch was insane. So many options from seafood to dessert to omelettes to sushi to BBQ to grilled veggies and the list goes on and on! We sat down and were immediately asked by our waitress if we would like bottomless mimosas. My husband and I looked at each other and almost in unison we said..”Uh definitely..”. I mean who can say no to that?! Our waitress never let our glass go below half full. She was so amazing and on top of everything! My first plate, yes first (I had 4 no shame), was bacon and sushi haha. Super random but I honestly can’t think of two things I love more so it was the perfect combo for me.
Outside were all the grills that had grilled fruit, vegetables, ribs, chicken, pulled pork etc. you get the point! It was all so fresh and you saw the chefs grilling everything in front of you. We made sure to try a little bit of everything so we didn’t miss out on anything. Outside by the grills they also had bottomless beer and my husband made sure to try those as well! We were having so much fun just hanging out together, drinking some drinks and eating delicious food. There was also an amazing live band playing some Blues outside so that was the perfect touch to brunch. Nothings better than live music! During brunch we were already planning our next trip back with family because we can’t wait to show our fam all the great things this resort has to offer! We ended brunch with a few desserts and I will tell you the chocolate chip cookie I had was one of the best I’ve ever had. I still regret not taking a few to go lol.
After brunch we chose to go relax by the pool with some smoothies and naps in the shade. The perfect ending to our early anniversary getaway at Loews Ventana. We can’t wait to come back and show our family and friends this amazing resort.
